Phased In-Person Learning Plan
Nooksack Valley students will begin to incrementally return to in-person instruction tentatively beginning October 13th with our K-5 students. The district, with the guidance of the Health Department, has developed a phased-in approach allowing 2-3 weeks between each phase.Implementation and the timeline for each phase could vary depending on a variety of factors including; continued feedback and approval from the Whatcom County Health Department and the time necessary to coordinate school-based services such as transportation, food services, cleaning, and the change in instructional models.
We are committed to providing you updates on moving to these in-person phases. If COVID case numbers significantly change, it may impact our phased approach to offer in-person instruction.
The phases and tentative dates are described below. More specific details will be coming from your principal and school.
Phase I: K-12 Small groups
Currently,we are bringing small groups of students with no internet connectivity and some students who have special needs at all levels. This phase began on September 14thin most of our school buildings.
